[17] OCCUPATION:
[1992-04-11, Robert Bockmiller]
College professor.

ANECDOTE:
[1990-10-13, Richard John Coar-]
Used to teach at Adelphi College Brooklyn, New York, probably before
World War II. At some point subsequent, he was head of the German
department at the University of Alberta in Canada. He wrote several
books about post-war Germany (he was very fluent in German). Whenever
he went to New York City, he always stayed at the Prince George Hotel.
Every summer, he would go to Germany ('he may have had a girlfriend
over there'). It is possible that he visited Hitler on one of these trips,
though whether for or against is unclear. One of his (John Firman's)
ancestors built the first skyscraper in New York City. This ancestor may
or may not have been a Coar.

ANECDOTE:
[1990-10-13, Andrea Ellen Coar-]
Andrea Ellen Coar remembers him as being 'very lettered' -- that is,
having a lot of degrees following his name. She saw his name in a 1926
copy of 'Who's Who in America.'

ANECDOTE:
[Kenneth Avery Coar-1]
Approximate text of the 1926 Who's Who entry (photocopied, then
telefaxed, so resolution is poor): "COAR, John Firman, colleg prof.; b. of
